  1. OPERATION BODENPLATTE
  2.  
  3. On January 1, 1945, the Luftwaffe
  4. launched a surprise offensive against
  5. Allied airfields in Holland, Belgium,
  6. and northern France. Designed to
  7. destroy the Allied Tactical Air Forces
  8. in these areas, Operation Bodenplatte
  9. involved nearly 800 Luftwaffe fighter
  10. planes.  The attack was very successful
  11. against some airfields, with 150 Allied 
  12. planes destroyed and another 50 heavily 
  13. damaged.

  15. As a hypothetical extension to
  16. Operation Bodenplatte, a lone Gotha
  17. could have been dispatched to bomb and
  18. strafe the airfield at Thorpe Abbots,
  19. England.

  21.                     YOUR MISSION
  22.  
  23. As a very special participant in
  24. Operation Bodenplatte, you are flying a
  25. lone Go 229 on a secret mission to bomb
  26. and strafe Thorpe Abbots.  Coming in
  27. fast and low, you are to bomb the
  28. hangars there and strafe as many
  29. aircraft as possible.  It is imperative
  30. that you complete your mission safely. 
  31. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO ALLOW
  32. YOUR AIRCRAFT TO FALL INTO ENEMY HANDS.
